Week 18 of the Recipe Challenge

52 weeks - 52 recipe books - 52 new recipes

Inspired by  The Grumbling Tummy

Week 18 - Gordon Ramsay's Great Escape (Southeast Asia) - Khmer Monkfish and Vegetable Curry

So this started with sending P to the fishmongers to see "what looked good" and him returning with a rather expensive (but totally worth it) piece of monkfish. For those who haven't had monkfish it is, to me, the steak of the fish world. It is big, meaty and yet still manages to be delicate and divine.

A fish this good warranted a cracking recipe and this time I turned to Gordon Ramsay and the second of his Great Escapes. I watched the programmes on the TV and was captivated by the Asian cuisine.

The recipe books make a lovely read, with the history of the recipe at the top and a personal description of what Gordon liked about the dish. This is followed by straight to follow instructions and accompanied by a wonderful photo that makes you want to eat the dish there and then!

The recipe did not disappoint. It was easy to make and tasted delicious, one to be bookmarked for future.
